As a part of continuous improvement, the NMUK plant built a wind farm at the plant. The generation of renewable energy cut carbon dioxide emissions at power plants by more than 3000 tonnes per year.

In October 2005 NMUK installed and started generating electricity from six 660kW recycled wind turbines.

Along with all the office environment installations Express IT have undertaken many varied tasks through out the plant including the Press Shop, Casting Plant, Body Shop, Paint shop, Trim & Chassis, Axel Plant and Engine Shop.

Express IT were even called upon to install antennas for TV’s during the world cup campaign. Quite a task when you think you have to provide for 5000 employees encompassing the full site and all within a timescale of  2 weeks with the majority of work having to be undertaken over weekend periods in order not to interrupt any production

Kings Meadow Community Comprehensive School is a prestigious PFI education facility in Dunston, Gateshead.

As the name suggests, “Game Keepers Cottage” required the Design, Installation and Commissioning of the project to encompassed the feel of the conservation Area in which it Resided.

Express IT were involved with the installation of more than 500 category 6 outlets, dozens of multimode and singlemode fibre optic cables, various sized multi-pair cables for voice links and numerous specialist co-axial cables for Comunication and entertainment systems.

Express IT were chosen for the termination, testing and commissioning of all data, voice, video and Comms cables on-board the prestigious Buzzard vessel. The Buzzard oil production platform in the North Sea, the largest project of its kind in the North Sea in the past decade.
